Data Mining Module

The ASG-Cypress Data Mining Module breathes new life into an enterprise’s legacy output. It transforms documents created by legacy systems into rich, relational reports by creating and delivering custom views of report file data from existing report applications.

The ASG-Cypress Data Mining Module filters, sorts, and summarizes report data “on the fly” for each user’s needs, saves the information as a convenient Excel® spreadsheet or text file, then automatically routes it to the appropriate printer, e-mail inbox, fax, directory, or other enterprise destination. Once report files have been processed, the resulting Excel or text files can be fully integrated with other ASG-Cypress software, including archiving and Web delivery solutions.

Other ASG-Cypress modules enable users to see only the information they have been authorized to access – something that other end-user data mining solutions cannot consistently provide. ASG-Cypress’ long-term archiving capability gives users a fast, programming-free solution for mining historical information that may no longer be in an organization’s databases.

The ASG-Cypress Data Mining Module is production-class and server-based, rather than user-based, software. Extensive end-user training is therefore eliminated, and information can be made available to more users faster. Automating data mining tasks normally performed by end-users means they can spend more time on their core tasks and less time learning and operating sophisticated client-based data mining software. Features include:

  • Creates the content that users need from existing report files, without creating new applications
  • Extracts data from reports for use with database applications
  • Increases user productivity by eliminating manual data mining procedures
  • Minimizes support and maintenance with a common, fully-automated solution
  • Reduces the acquisition and training costs of client-based data mining software
  • Safeguards data by extracting and delivering only the data that each user is authorized to see
