ARM IRD Installation Instructions
Following are the instructions for installing updates for your Automated Rental Management software. We STRONGLY recommend that you take the time to read this entire article before proceeding with the installation of the interim release (IRD). If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our support department. Click here for support options.
Before You Download Your ARM Software
Do not attempt to install any of the update files unless instructed to do so by a member of the BCS ProSoft support/programming staff. If your current version of Automated Rental Management is not at least at the same level as your MAS installation, DO NOT CONTINUE. (To find the current version of your MAS installation, from the MAS Desktop, select “Help” from the menu, and then select the “About MAS 90…” item.)
You must insure that your current ARM software level falls within the levels listed on the download link for the file to be installed. If the IRD file set is current to your installed version of Automated Rental Management, download this file and perform the upgrade as per instructions. The interim release file set (IRD) is inclusive of the versions listed; so, if you have missed a previous download, then the current file is the only one you need to download and install.
♦ Important: Do NOT install an interim release without first completing a system backup.
If you are not 100% clear about what you are to do, DO NOT CONTINUE. For a small fee, BCS ProSoft staff can send you an IRD installation file on some other form of installation media. (CD-Rom or thumb drive, etc.)
See the “Downloading your Automated Rental Management Software” article relative to your version of MAS for downloading instructions, download links to the software, and any additional information specific to that version of the software.
Installation Instructions
The Automated Rental Management Interim Release software (IRD) is distributed as an archived file with a “.zip” extension. Use either Windows Explorer or an archive utility such as WinZip to extract the executable file from the archive.
A successfully extracted executable file will have this format: ROird420.exe. The three digit number following “ird” in the file name should correspond to your current version of MAS.
If you are working with MAS 200, your installation file should be executed from the server where your MAS is installed. If you are working with MAS 90, you may execute the IRD file from any workstation.
Please remember that there should be NO other users in the MAS system while you are installing these program updates.
Use Windows Explorer to execute the IRD file. Using Windows Explorer, locate where you have saved the IRD archive file and its extracted executable file. Double-click on the executable file.
The first screen that you will see is a welcome screen. It will display to you the ARM version number and Interim build number contained within that installer. Press the [ Next > ] button to continue or the [ Cancel ] button to terminate the installation. (This gives you one more opportunity to confirm that you have the correct IRD for your version of MAS.)

The second screen you will see during the installation process is the “License Agreement” page. You must read and accept the terms of the license agreement before you can proceed with the software installation. Press the [ Next > ] button to continue with the installation or the [ Cancel ] button if you wish to terminate installation at this point.

After accepting the licensing agreement, you are presented with the “Choose Install Location” screen. Enter the path to the “MAS90” folder where your MAS software resides on your server. Use the [ Browse… ] button if you need to select the destination from a directory tree.
Use the [ < Back ] button if you need to make changes to a previous installation dialogue, or press the [ Install ] button to begin the installation process. Pressing the [ Cancel ] button will terminate the installation process.

During the Install process, you will see the following screens:
1. You will see a progress bar showing that the installer is copying its files to your MAS system.

2. Once all of the files have been copied to your MAS system, an additional progress dialogue will be displayed indicating the your MAS system files are being updated. (Note: if you do not see the “Enhancement Installation” dialogue box during the install process, then your copy of MAS is not properly registered with the Windows registry. You will need to contact BCS ProSoft Support for an alternate method of completing the installation process.)

3. The last screen in the “Installing” process is another progress window indicating that the installation is being finalized.

The final screen presented to the user by the installation process is the “Finish” screen. Press the [ Finish ] button to close down the installer program.

Your Automated Rental Management Interim Release software should now be correctly installed. To confirm this, start up MAS 90 (or MAS 200). Proceed to the Automated Rental Management Setup menu. Select the “About Your BCS Software” program from this menu.
You will see a screen similar to the following:

Your version number and build number should correspond to those found in the Welcome screen of the IRD installer. If these do not match, contact BCS ProSoft Support immediately.
