ARM IRD Download Instructions

By terrybauer • January 31st, 2000

Following are the instructions for downloading updates for your Automated Rental Management software. We recommend that you take the time to read this entire article before proceeding with the download of the interim release (IRD) software. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our support department. Click here for support options.

  1. You must download the file onto a computer running a Windows compatible operating system. MAS90/MAS200 no longer supports Windows 98 or Windows ME.
  2. Select the Interim Release archive (located on the IRD Release Announcement) to begin the download process. Make sure your version of Automated Rental Management falls inclusively between the release versions specified in the table.
  3. We recommend that you download the file(s) into a temporary folder on your hard drive, so that you can easily access it after the download is complete. (Note: If you are using the MAS200 version, you must download or copy the file(s) to the server).
  4. At this time, be certain that EVERYONE is logged out of MAS 90 before continuing. Also, if you have not backed up your software, do so NOW. Finally, make one last check to insure that you have the correct Interim Release software set for the level of the Rental software you are currently running. (From the Library Master Reports menu, run the Installed Modules Listing to check your version of Automated Rental Management.)
  5. The Automated Rental Management interim release is delivered as an executable installation file with a file name extension “.zip”. Download the file to a temporary location on your hard drive, then unzip the file using an archive utility such as WinZip or you may be able to extract the file using Windows Explorer. Double-click the resulting ROirdxxx.EXE program to start the install. Be sure to point the installer to the MAS90 folder on your server drive. You will need to accept the license agreement before you will be allowed to proceed with the installation. (See the article on installing your Automated Rental Management Interim Release software for a more comprehensive details on this process. Click here to view this article.)
  6. When you have completed the upgrade installation, start MAS 90 and access Company Maintenance in the Library Master Main folder. Access each company on your system using the ARM software, and press the “Convert” button. Convert only the current company. We do not recommend that you convert all companies at one time. (If the conversion fails because of a data issue, it is easier to determine in which company the problem exists if you are only converting the one company.)
  7. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the support staff at BCS ProSoft.
